Demountable Cabins for Pickups & Overlanding – with the WildPORT FLAT ROAD Camper
A good demountable cabin transforms a pickup into a fully-fledged travel vehicle, without permanently altering the character of the base vehicle. With the WildPORT FLAT ROAD, we offer an aluminum cabin consistently designed for travel, camping, and overlanding, which is configured to match the dimensions of the respective pickup bed.
The focus is on a robust, fully welded aluminum structure, good insulation, low weight, and a modular interior. This makes the FLAT ROAD suitable for compact weekend trips as well as longer journeys, self-sufficient camping, and more demanding off-road routes.
FLAT ROAD: Aluminum instead of heavy furniture construction
The cabin structure is built as a welded aluminum monocoque construction. The outer skin and internal aluminum profiles form a resilient unit, while a high-density, flame-retardant insulation layer thermally separates the interior from the outside. The concept is designed for durability and a vehicle weight that can be controlled as much as possible.
Depending on the equipment, the cabin weight according to the provider is approximately 350 kg in the Basic version and 450 kg in the Standard version. This point is crucial, especially for pickups: not only the permissible total weight, but also the front and rear axle loads and the actual payload of the individual vehicle must be considered.

The pop-top roof: compact on the go, spacious at the campsite
While driving, the structure remains relatively compact. At the campsite, the roof is raised, creating additional interior height. The four-layer window and fabric system combines ventilation, mosquito protection, weather protection, and thermal shielding. For those who want to make the structure more comfortable, the manual system can optionally be replaced by an electric aluminum pop-top roof.
Sleeping and living
The pull-out bed, measuring approximately 210 × 145 cm, offers a full sleeping area for two people. Below it, the U-shaped seating area can still be used as a living and dining area. In conjunction with the folding table, a compact interior is created that can serve as a lounge during the day and a sleeping area at night.
Optional upgrades for your travel concept
The FLAT ROAD can be configured far beyond the standard equipment. This allows the cabin to be built from a light weekend camper to a fully equipped self-sufficient overlander.

Does the cabin fit my pickup?
The FLAT-ROAD cabin is designed to fit the respective truck bed. This means the concept is fundamentally interesting for various mid-size and full-size pickups. However, not only the length and width of the truck bed are decisive, but especially the weight reserves of the specific vehicle.
Before ordering, we therefore recommend a technical check of the vehicle model, wheelbase, truck bed dimensions, permissible total weight, front and rear axle loads, and actual payload. Already installed attachments, larger wheels, winches, roof racks, spare wheels, and additional travel equipment are included in the consideration.
Consider chassis and load upgrade simultaneously
A demountable cabin significantly changes a pickup's center of gravity and rear axle load. AKS Offroad can therefore consider not only the cabin but the entire vehicle: if necessary, we examine suitable chassis solutions, load upgrade possibilities, and a sensible adjustment to the actual travel weight.
Consultation instead of standard package
With a demountable cabin, the combination of base vehicle, cabin weight, interior design, and personal use is decisive. Therefore, we recommend individual coordination before ordering. Together we define whether Basic or Standard fits better, which options are really useful, and whether additional measures are necessary for the vehicle.
WildPORT FLAT ROAD – from €17,900. The specific configuration, vehicle adaptation, and final scope of delivery will be agreed upon before ordering.
