Properly organized adventure preparations are probably first on the agenda before heading out into the bush. There are few better ways to do this than with a drawer system. Using our drawer system gives you the ability to neatly store your supplies in place for easy access. What makes the drawer such a great product for a truck is that it's right there when you need to find your gear or quickly grab something. When choosing the right drawer system, there are a few things to consider. If you don't know exactly what to look for, you can easily choose the wrong product for your needs. Here are some tips to consider or know when looking for a drawer for your vehicle. Consider the type of drawer slides used. This is of high importance. Alu-Cab uses heavy-duty, solid-sealed stainless steel bearings for its drawers. What makes this bearing design great is its ability to withstand weight, dust, water, and the rigors of constant off-road undulations. Consider what materials are used for the drawer. Our drawers are made of aluminum. This makes our drawer system one of the lightest and most durable drawers on the market. Look at the finish on top of the drawer system. Alu-cab uses a commercial waterproof layer. This layer is covered with nylon carpet. The carpet is important because it protects the top and also contributes to the longevity of the product. It also allows you to pack things on top. The carpet on the drawer bottom is only loosely inserted into the drawer. Our reason for this is that if something breaks in the drawer during your trip, cleaning is nice and easy. The drawer can be easily detached from its housing by releasing a few locking pins. The loose carpet can come out of the drawer and be hosed off if necessary. The reinforcement arch in the upper area of the drawer is curved outwards. This creates additional storage space because the curved lip does not interfere with the inside of the drawer. Our drawers are designed so that you can store a Wolf Pack ammo box with the lid on. Useful if you're trying to keep dust out or have your gear packed in boxes. A standard 330mm cooldrink or beer can be stacked on top of each other in the drawer. Sounds like a small feature, but it actually makes a big difference when you're packing for those long adventures and trying to utilize your space as best as possible for you. The deck on the drawer system is made of 12mm thick plywood. This layer is very strong and allows us to load a large amount of gear and weight onto it. Especially if you install your fridge in this position. It can usually be screwed directly through the top. The locking latches are self-locking stainless steel latches, so the drawer is simply pushed to close. They are strong latches that can be locked to secure your equipment in the drawer.
