The cleverly designed awnings with optional side walls create additional changing and lounge areas if desired and protect against sun or rain. The awning is available in three sizes. With an extension of 270 cm and a width of 200 or 250 cm for mounting on the side of the vehicle, and with an extension of 240 cm and a width of 130 cm for mounting on the rear of the vehicle. The telescopic poles, which support the awning, can be extended up to a length of 220 cm. Both awnings for the side of the vehicle are designed so that a tent entrance can be mounted at any time. The corresponding opening can be used as a pass-through without an entrance tunnel or can be closed wind- and watertight. Two continuous C-rails are embedded in the vehicle-side profile. This allows for very easy mounting, for example, with hex screws and 90° angles. To stow the awning, the crossbars are first folded into the aluminum profile on the vehicle and the height-adjustable feet are folded into the outer profile. Then the awning is rolled up to the profile on the vehicle. For protection, a cover made of sturdy PVC tarpaulin material is folded over the awning and closed with Velcro. A construction that is as simple as it is ingenious, like much of James Baroud's work. For all three awning sizes, a set of three side walls with large windows and a door is optionally available. James Baroud has also come up with a clever solution for this. A semi-circular profile with an adjoining keder rail is attached to the crossbars and headliner, and the side wall is pulled into the keder rail. This creates a wind- and watertight connection. The front wall is pulled into the keder rail of the front aluminum profile and connected to the side walls with a zipper. The rounded windows are a real eye-catcher and clearly stand out from typical functional buildings. Due to their exceptional size, the interior is pleasantly bright and friendly. The windows, equipped with mosquito nets, can be closed opaquely if necessary. Side awning 1.0 vs. Side awning 1.2 Except for the pass-through where the tunnel is mounted into the roof tent, the awnings are identical. The tunnel hole of the side awning 1.2 now has a length of 70cm, compared to the side awning 1.0 with a length of 58cm. In terms of width, there are only minimal differences of 3-4 cm. The new awning thus fits perfectly in combination with the Odyssey Tunnel.
