The Falcon 1.2 awning is designed so that a tent entrance can be installed at any time. The corresponding opening can either be used as a passageway without an entrance tunnel or can be closed wind and watertight. The James Baroud side awning 1.2 has a significantly larger and more comfortable passageway compared to the side awning 1.0. With the Falcon 1.2, James Baroud is launching the successor to the classic awning. The fabric used is identical to the fabric James Baroud uses for its tents. The awning frame is made of aluminum, and the bracket is made of iron. The awning has an empty weight of 32.6kg and a total weight including brackets of 48kg. When closed, the awning has a length of 250 cm, a width of 17 cm, and a height of 20 cm. It can be mounted on the Rhino-Rack, AEV Roof Racks, as well as on roof racks. The two supplied fixing brackets are attached with screws in the C-rails on the back of the awning. The other side of the bracket is then attached to the roof rack. The supporting telescopic poles can be extended up to 220cm. A set of three side walls and a mosquito net are available as accessories for the awning. When closed, the awning is packed in a three-part truck tarpaulin, which is closed with Velcro along its length. At the ends, it is also secured vertically with tensionable straps. The main profile consists of aluminum with an iron bracket for the four swivel arms. Three arms swivel backward, one forward. In addition, an opening for the tent tunnel is integrated into the awning. Optionally, side walls can be attached, which can be pulled into a keder rail. Setup: To open the awning, first the firmly mounted tensioning straps on the sides of the cover must be opened. Then the tarpaulin must be placed backward over the swivel arms. After opening the inner tensioning straps, the awning fabric is unrolled and the awning can be fanned out. The awning is available for the left (LHS) or right (RHS) side of the vehicle. It is tensioned via a strap that is attached to the rear roof rack. In an additional bag there are four telescopic poles (two small, two large), which are inserted horizontally between the swivel arms and thus tension the outside of the awning. Then the four feet are folded out of the aluminum profiles (swivel arms) and set up. Due to the telescopic mechanism, these can also be set up on uneven terrain by simply tightening them. Falcon 1.0 vs. Falcon 1.2 Except for the passageway where the tunnel is mounted into the roof tent, the awnings are identical. The tunnel hole of the Falcon 1.2 now has a length of 70cm, compared to the Falcon 1.0 with a length of 58cm. In width there are only minimal differences of 3-4 cm. The new awning thus fits perfectly in combination with the Odyssey Tunnel. One person can set up the awning alone.
