The REDARC BCDC Classic40 (BCDC1240D) is a powerful 12V, 40A DC-DC battery charger designed for engine bay installation – ideal for campers, 4x4 vehicles, and off-road applications. It efficiently charges auxiliary batteries while driving via the alternator and when stationary via solar panels. Thanks to integrated MPPT solar regulation and Green Power Priority™, solar energy is preferentially used, which relieves the alternator and reduces fuel consumption. The charger is compatible with 12V and 24V systems and works reliably with both conventional and smart (variable) alternators. Patented charging profiles enable optimal charging of lithium batteries (LiFePO₄) as well as AGM, Gel, Calcium, and standard lead-acid batteries, ensuring maximum performance and lifespan for your batteries – even in demanding applications. Developed and tested in Australia, the BCDC Classic40 is designed for extreme conditions. It withstands heat up to 80 °C, water, dust, and strong vibrations – perfect for off-road tours and expeditions. Especially suitable for larger battery systems (lead-acid over 200 Ah, lithium over 100 Ah), it ensures reliable power supply in any situation.
