The shackle is an almost indispensable accessory for recovery. Shackles are used, for example, to attach recovery straps to vehicles and tree anchor straps to rope hooks or pulley blocks. In many vehicles, the towing eyes are so close to the body or bumper, or the towing eyes are so small, that the rope hook cannot be engaged. In such cases, a shackle also helps. Shackles are available in various sizes and essentially in two forms, known as D-shackles and bow shackles. Bow shackles are more versatile, especially if you want to hook two strap ends onto the closed side. It is very important when using shackles that the locking pin is never screwed in all the way. Under extreme loads, a shackle can easily deform. A fully screwed-in pin can then no longer be opened, or only with the help of a tool. Therefore, first screw the pin in completely and then unscrew it by about half a turn. Made from alloy cast steel and powder-coated. Bow shackle 3/4 standard version for use with off-road vehicles. The maximum working load (WLL) of the shackle is 4 tons, and the breaking load is at least 20 tons. The illustration shows the 3/4 shackle on the left and the 1/2 shackle (Quad) on the right.
