The engine skid plate is made of 4mm thick AL5052 aluminum alloy. Pressed beads make the skid plate even stiffer and thus more durable. The plate has generous openings at the lowest point so that mud and liquids can drain off. The protective plate is bolted to the original mounting points, so no drilling or sawing is necessary. After welding and grinding, the surface of the skid plate is sandblasted, KTL coated, and then powder coated in RAL9005 matt black. The engine skid plate has an opening that is located directly under the oil drain plug. This means that the skid plate does not have to be removed for an oil change.
